The White Hart Village Inn, Llangybi
Set in the beautiful Usk Vale, The White Hart Village Inn is a historic country inn with centuries of character, charm and local heritage. Originally believed to have been built in the 12th century for Cistercian monks, the inn has long been part of the story of Llangybi and the wider Usk area.
Over the years, The White Hart has been linked to several notable figures in British history. In the early 1500s, it is said to have formed part of Jane Seymour’s wedding dowry to Henry VIII. Later, Oliver Cromwell was reputed to have used the inn as a local headquarters, while poet T. S. Eliot is believed to have referenced the inn in his poem Usk.
Today, The White Hart remains a warm and welcoming village inn, offering a relaxed period setting with traditional features throughout. Inside, guests can enjoy original exposed beams, Tudor plasterwork, no fewer than 11 fireplaces and even a Priest’s hole, which our team will be happy to point out during your visit.
